HURRICANE HUNTERS Fly Through Eye of Florence

Ever wonder how we get some of those crazy accurate details about impending storms? Me, I just thought we used satellites and people wayyyy smarter than I am to make specific calculations.  Well we do...but we also use crazy brave pilots, whose job is to fly into storms.  YEAHHHH, no thanks, don't sign me up for that!

These bad*sses are known as Hurricane Hunters, and are actually sent into storms by The National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration to gather data that cannot be determined via satellite.

The National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration sends planes known as ‘hurricane hunters’ into the center of hurricanes to gather data that can’t be picked up on a satellite. A mission on Monday measured Hurricane Florence’s winds at 130 mph.
