Cat Tests Positive For COVID-19

>>Cat Tests Positive For COVID-19

(Camp Hill, PA) -- Pet owners are worried as Cumberland County health officials confirmed the state's first cat to test positive for COVID-19. Officials say the cat had to be euthanized due to respiratory distress, and it was living with people who previously caught the virus. Veterinarians say it's theoretically possible that an animal could transmit it to a human with close contact, but coronavirus is mainly a disease spread from person-to-person. They urge pet owners to contact their vets immediately if their pet starts showing symptoms of the virus, which are similar to those in humans.
