Mumford & Sons made sure to end their expansive Delta tour with a bang during their Austin City Limits set over the weekend. The folk rockers surprised Austin High's marching band and rehearsed a last-minute performance of "The Cave," which they brought to their headlining set. The band recorded footage during their practice with the local band and shared a heartfelt post on Instagram.
"One thing we love about touring is finding a sense of place in the world and celebrating it," Marcus Mumford wrote. "In Austin last night there was no better way than to head to Austin High and drag these legends out of bed to come play with us last minute at ACL. It was a relief to play with proper musicians, at last... A particular shout out to anyone playing music at school - that’s how we started - and it’s worth all the admin and dull practise sessions... promise... What a way to wrap up the N American leg of the Delta Tour. Thank you again, fine people... all love, MM."
They also recruited Metallica's Lars Ulrich to play drums during "The Wolf," which they also documented with a grateful Instagram post.
