'blink182' Is The Most Common Musical Artist Password In The World

Blink-182 might not be the most popular band in the world, but "blink182" is the most popular musical artist password in the world. On Monday (April 22), CNN reported the globe's Top 10 most vulnerable passwords and the pop punk veterans took the cake in the musical world, while "superman" was the most common fictional character, "ashley" and "michael" were the most used names, "liverpool" took the cake in terms of Premier League football clubs and the Dallas Cowboys (cowboys1) topped the NFL list. As far as months and days go, "August" and "Sunday" were at the top.

But unsurprisingly, the No. 1 most hackable password is "123456," with "password" not far behind. Here's a list of the Top 10 most vulnerable passwords in the world.

  1. 123456
  2. 123456789
  3. qwerty
  4. password
  5. 111111
  6. 12345678
  7. abc123
  8. 1234567
  9. password1
  10. 12345

Dictionary.com's always on-point Twitter handle caught wind of the "blink182" prevalence problem and made a hilarious joke stemming from the band's hit "All The Small Things," which bassist Mark Hoppus promptly retweeted.

"Watching: On the lookout for password thieves. Waiting: A period of time until which a password might be stolen. Commiserating: Feeling or expressing sorrow or sympathy for a friend whose password has been cracked," they wrote. LOLZ.
