Lucius Strip Down Portugal. The Man's "Tidal Wave" in New Remix

Portugal. The Man released "Tidal Wave" as the latest single off their critically acclaimed 2017 album Woodstock this summer, and on Friday (September 14), Lucius shared an inspired remix of the catchy track to celebrate their upcoming tour dates with the Grammy-winning alt pop band.

Though remixes usually add new elements to the original song, the indie pop outfit took a more introspective approach to reworking the track, dissecting each individual part and piecing it back together.

“We sort of stripped everything away, listened to each part piece by piece and then mixed it up, putting it back together,” Lucius explained to Paste. “It’s always exciting to get inside a song and then uncover things you wouldn’t normally see or hear upon first listen.”

The result is an equally tantalizing arrangement of the track that enhances some aspects that may not be recognized and appreciated in the original.
